This overview of the successful, year-long series of HIV prevention ads conducted by the Scrutinize Campaign, includes the following sections: Introduction, Purpose, Implementation, Evaluation, Recommendations, Future Programming, and Citations. Victor Scrutinize, the animated star of the ads, raised questions about various risk behaviors in the ads, which were launched on South African television in June 2008. The ads were irreverent and humorous and were "markedly different from previous South African HIV prevention campaigns for youth."
