Did You Know?

AIDSTAR-One has identified and documented lessons from promising programs about how to integrate multiple gender strategies into HIV/AIDS programs in Integrating Multiple Gender Strategies to Improve HIV and AIDS Interventions: A Compendium of Programs in Africa.

Know of a program that integrates gender into HIV programming for most at risk populations? Tell us more....

As researchers and implementers learn more about what drives HIV transmission and what works to prevent it, emerging areas of HIV prevention address potent drivers with novel solutions.

AIDSTAR-One includes a focus on expanding the knowledge base of prevention approaches that implement: 1) novel activities or innovative combinations of activities to address factors affecting the risk of HIV transmission, or 2) established program activities that have been effectively adapted for use in resource constrained settings.

The emerging areas presented here include a set of prevention activities identified in consultation with the PEPFAR Prevention Technical Working Groups as priority areas for 2008-2009.
