A Webinar on Improving the Lives of People Living with HIV through WASH: Water Sanitation and Hygiene
USAID, in collaboration with AIDSTAR-One, will present a series of webinars targeting program planners interested in utilizing care and support tools created by AIDSTAR-One in collaboration with the PEPFAR Care and Support Technical Working Group.
Please join us for this discussion, the third in a four part series, which will present a WASH training curriculum and results of a pilot carried out in Ethiopia and Kenya. AIDSTAR-One developed and piloted the training resource to introduce water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives at health facilities to improve the quality of life of PLHIV and their families. The curriculum materials include: 1) Training Guide and 2) Participant Technical Resource Guide. Pilot trainings took place in Ethiopia and Kenya, with active participation and support from the Ministry of Sanitation and Public Health in Kenya and the South Nation and Ethiopian Nationality Peoples Regional State (SNNPR) Health Bureau to implement the comprehensive 3-4 day curriculum. All trainees reported strong agreement that the WASH training led to changes in their personal behavior related to WASH.
